Neck Pain
Neck pain is a discomfort, ache and tension that makes it hard to turn your head. It is a common problem with prominent lifestyle factors including poor work stations, sleeping habits and posture. Neck tension is a leading cause of headaches and migraines, along side dehydration, which can both easily be avoided. At Advanced Myotherapy we make a thorough assessment of each individual to determine the best ways to treat neck pain and address key underlying causes. We combine a number of techniques including trigger point and myofacial release, to stretching and dry needling, to obtain fast and effective results.
Lateral Epicondilitis (Tennis Elbow)
Inflammation around the outside of the elbow bone is often referred to as Tennis Elbow for obvious reasons. Otherwise called Lateral Epicondylitis, this condition is often a result of repetitive overuse that much of the time comes with sporting activities such as “Tennis”. This injury can cause tenderness that becomes quite sore when untreated. We use a variety of modalities in the treatment & prevention of Tennis Elbow. Applied pressure combined with the movement of the elbow, in addition to simple exercises & stretches which increase strength & flexibility of the affected area are important recovery factors in rehabilitation of the condition.
“I developed severe pain in my elbow and lost a lot of strength in my fore arm. Now I’m back to work as usual without restriction.” – Ramsey, Electrician
Herniated Disc
A herniated disk is the spinal mis-alignment caused by a deterioration of flexibility and elasticity. What occurs in this resulting ailment is a bulging disc from between the vertebrae, where by the spinal nerves and cord often become pinched and compressed. We treat Disc herniation with a number of different techniques to achieve optimal recovery in less time. With correct self care education and personalised maintenance programs, we effectively manipulate and release the area, to restore full range of motion without restriction and or pain,
“I had Doctor’s saying I needed surgery, now they are scratching their heads after the follow up scan. I’m glad I refused their advise and was told about you guys. The herniated disc has disappeared!” – Grant Smith
Back pain
Also called: Backache, Lumbago. Back pain is a common and debilitating medical problems, ranging from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp pain. It can be a result from manual strain at work or as a result from physical stress of lifestyle factors. Our results oriented clinic focuses on correcting lifestyle factors contributing to back pain. Applying postural alignment techniques such as stretching, self care training, maintenance and remedial therapies, we work to release muscle tension and reduce physical pain.
“Thank you for a great treatment today and the follow up plan. It was my first experience of a dry needling treatment today, I can truly recommend this treatment. Feeling more movement already.” – Sandra Cleary
Sciatica
Sciatica is the compression and irritation of the spinal nerve roots, which can happen on either or both sides of the spine. Resulting pain is felt in the lower back, glutes, legs and also down to the feet. Sciatica can be a result of many different lifestyle factors that contribute to the nerve root compression pain. Treatment of this condition depends on the leading causes. We treat sciatica through a thorough assessment which determines the best techniques and approaches to recovery. Using a combination of different techniques, including myofacial release, trigger point therapy, dry needling, applied heat, stretching and cupping, we work towards a fast and effective recovery from Sciatica.
“I came to Advanced Myotherapy on recommendation, for the severe pain down my leg and am now free from the debilitating pain I was constantly in. I highly recommend Advanced Myotherapy for anyone seeking better health.” – Lazarus, Skillup Australia
Achilles Tendonitis
Often an injury brought on by sporting activities involving running, Achilles Tendonitis far too often results in surgery that can be prevented with the self care, education and Professional treatment. Inflammation & Pain that comes with Achilles Tendonitis can be greatly immobilising without proper understanding of correct self care and maintenance. Guided Self Care combined with a Maintenance Program is the best way to avoid going under the knife and causing long term problems, that restrict range of motion and mobility. We have a 100% success rate in our Achilles Tendonitis rehabilitation and a strong reputation as a result for helping our clients avoid unnecessary surgery.
“Told I needed surgery for Achilles Tendonitis, I wanted a second opinion. After treatment I became more aware of my own contribution to the condition and have since recovered fully without surgery.”- Theo, TNM Consulting
Plantar Faciitis/ Heel Pain
Plantar Faciitis is much of the time a matter of wear & tear after long term overuse in endurance sporting activities such as running or wearing poor quality shoes such as high heels. Long term posture imbalance through activities that cause misalignment of the centre of gravity/ core of the body can significantly strain the plantar facia. Advanced Myotherapy combine various modalities and techniques in the effective treatment of Plantar Faciitis, otherwise experienced as Heel Pain. Taping is one method incorporated in the maintenance and recovery of this condition. Home self care is a vital aspect of effective rehabilitation from Plantar Faciitis, which is something we place a strong focus on in achieving successful recovery.
“Advanced Myotherapy came highly recommended to me for the treatment of my painful feet. I have now been able to maintain an active lifestyle with a more conscious awareness of recovery and self care.” - Cindy James, Interiors That Fit
